Narva, Estonia — For two days in December, the historic border city of Narva transformed into a global epicenter for emerging technology. But while international speakers from the worlds of Web3 and AI took the stage at Vaba Lava, the true heartbeat of the W3N 2025 festival was found behind the scenes—powered by a dedicated team of young changemakers.
Beyond the Lanyards: Real-World Tech Experience
Volunteering at W3N is not about checking tickets; it is an immersive “non-formal” masterclass in event production and international networking. This year, over 15 volunteers from Ida-Virumaa and across Estonia stepped into high-responsibility roles, gaining hands-on experience in:
- Media & Content Production: Working alongside professional crews to document panels on AI ethics and decentralized finance.
- Speaker Liaison: Directly assisting founders and innovators from global tech hubs, building professional networks that extend far beyond the region.
- Logistics & Innovation: Managing the complex flow of a multi-track festival, ensuring that 400+ participants from 15+ countries had a seamless experience.

Empowering Narva’s Digital Citizens
“Innovation isn’t just about the technology on the screen; it’s about the people behind it,” says Alexander Bitškov, Strategic Lead of StartIDA. “By giving our youth a front-row seat to the global tech economy, we are proving that Narva isn’t just a spectator—we are a leader.”
For many local volunteers, W3N 2025 was their first encounter with the “Future Skills” required for the modern workforce. From navigating professional communication in English to understanding the impact of Web3 on digital identity, the festival served as a bridge between classroom theory and global reality.

A Legacy of Impact
The W3N 2025 volunteer program was more than a two-day commitment. Every participant received an official certificate of contribution, a recognized asset for university applications and future employment. More importantly, they joined a growing community of active citizens committed to revitalizing the Ida-Viru region through innovation and creativity.
As we look back on a successful festival, we are already preparing the next generation of leaders. The energy of W3N 2025 proved one thing: when you give young people the tools to lead, the future starts today.
