The FutureLaw 2023 conference in Tallinn brought together innovators, lawyers, founders, and students to explore how technology is reshaping the legal world — and young volunteers from StartIDA were right at the center of it.
Held at Tallinn Hestia Hotel Europa, FutureLaw 2023 was more than just a conference. It was a real-world learning experience for the youth who joined the organizing team as volunteers, supporting everything from guest coordination and media coverage to logistics and tech setup.
Hands-On Experience
Over two days, volunteers worked side by side with international speakers, startups, and legal-tech professionals, gaining insights into how events are built from the ground up. Their tasks included:
- Managing registrations and guest flow.
- Assisting panel moderators and stage managers.
- Supporting social-media coverage and photography.
- Helping partners and exhibitors during setup and networking sessions.
The event atmosphere was dynamic and fast-paced — giving participants a chance to test their communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a real professional setting.

Empowering the Next Generation
For StartIDA’s young volunteers, FutureLaw 2023 was a bridge between education and opportunity. Many had never experienced such a large-scale international event before, and left inspired to continue learning about law, technology, and entrepreneurship.
“Volunteering at FutureLaw showed me how innovation and law can actually work together — it was eye-opening,” shared one of the volunteers.
Looking Ahead
StartIDA continues to open doors for youth to take part in major events like FutureLaw and W3N, helping them gain real-world skills, confidence, and professional connections. Every project and event brings a new chance for young people to learn by doing and be part of Estonia’s innovation story.
